Just after the First World War, in a traumatized Europe, a group of avant guard educators elaborated their project to build a world without violence by modernising the school system. They dreamt of giving rise to a new man by rejecting the master- student model, and by educating boys and girls together, liberating their bodies. A contemplation of a utopia that only lasted several years, yet still resonates in our classrooms today.
