In the past few years, Chinese immigrants have been buying bar-tobacco shops in Paris and the suburbs propelling them in the heart of French culture and habits. I chose to film "Le Balto", a family owned Parisian bar-tobacco shop where Lin and Alban have developed close relationships with their clients from all over the world.
This film draws a portrait of the regular clients of the bar and offers the viewer a discovery of the often funny and sometimes ironic gaze of the French society seen through the eyes of the Chinese couple.
