The Place of the Opposites
Léa Rinaldi
2021 - 80 min - Vidéo Full HD - Couleur - France

For over two decades, throughout the prism of performing arts, Neusa Thomasi, director of the Compagnie des Contraires, has been taking action in favour of the cultural life of Chanteloup-les-Vignes, a suburban city of Paris.
This troupe, originally travelling the streets of the city before settling in the circus tent in the heart of the Noé ghetto, gives the opportunity for the youth to participate in the creation of shows with professionals.
By following Neusa and four children - each with a different background - the movie shows us how the work of the troupe truly is in line with social matters: prevention and promotion of civic rights and togetherness.
The symbol of its success that has built up its reputation to what it is today: an institution, is the solid circus tent unveiled in January 2018, that was then ravaged by arson in November 2019.
