La Vraie Vie
Anne Peyrègne
2000 - 52 min - DV Cam - Couleur - France

In Paris, a group of men of women, aged 29 to 55, participate in intensive rehearsals of a play they will soon perform in public. The performance is the last hurdle that have to cross before they begin their real lives. This demanding exercise remains a game, but forces them to adhere to a strict schedule and society's rules.
Finding a role in life is much less fun. Their first task is to look for an internship in a company, where they must leave their characters behind and once again play themselves. In the closing act, during the internship itself, each participant improvises – with more or less success – the great tragicomedy that is the working world.
"Real Life" follows these men and women along this difficult path, marked by moments of uncertainty and hope, enthusiasm and renunciation, as they navigate between fiction and reality. First a character in a play, then an actor in life : the film follows the evolving identity of each participant.
