Joseph Conrad (1857-1924), l'écrivain de sa vie Série-Collection : Un siècle d'écrivains

Karel Prokop
1999 - 47 min - Beta digital - Couleur et Noir & Blanc - France

The main thrust of this film portrait is a kind of cinematic quest for the writer's sources of inspiration, notably in the two worlds that marked him the most : the sea – in particular the islands of the South Seas – and his native Poland which, through its culture, its traditions, even its contradictions, indelibly marked the young Konrad Korzeniowski.
The aim of this documentary is to share the pleasure of discovering or rediscovering the eventful life and times of Joseph Conrad and to convey, through images that faithfully reflect his world, the emotion created by some of the most powerful writings not only about the sea, but about human passions.
