In 1990 the Charles Dallery alley-way in the 11th ward in Paris was typical of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Crafstmen and people of the neighbourhood passed each other and chatted together. Many stopped in the large courtyard of N° 30 where artists' studios took part in "Open Visiting" Days.
In 1992 the place has changed a lot.
