Chili, la mémoire obstinée
( Chile, memoria obstinada )

Patricio Guzmán
1997 - 56 min - Super 16 mm - Couleur - France

Patricio Guzmán filmed "The Battle of Chile" in 1974 and then, as many of his fellow countrymen, was forced into exile.
Twenty-two years later, he returns to his camera to try and understand how and to what extent the amnesia imposed by Pinochet has succeeded in destroying the memory and energy of a people. "I feel a great solitude" he wrote during the scout in the grey city of Santiago.
