Autour de Marie-France
Valérie Urréa
1998 - 50 min - Couleur - France

White like the oblivion of colours, the white that Mathilde Monnier had already used on the edge of "L’Atelier en pièces", the masterly show made for autistic people. Here Valérie Urréa follows the relationship between the choreographer and Marie-France, a young autistic woman of 26.
We see moments of a show put on by both of them and Louis Sclavis for the music, and the work in the context of movement workshops organised for the last four years in collaboration with the association "Les Murs d’Aurelle" at La Colombière hospital. The relation between Mathilde and Marie-France is essentially conveyed by the body : "It is beyond words, but in its own language."
A language fit to reveal "Marie-France’s astonishing physical abilities, extraordinary, which allow her to adopt positions that even a dancer cannot reproduce." It is a fascinating discovery for this dancer whose body conceals many forgotten paths.
