Architectures de Nancy : les temps d'une ville
François Chilowicz
1994 - 26 min - Betacam SP - Couleur - France

An urbanist is drawing and commenting a map of the city of Nancy. An art historian replies him wiht the descrition of the most important moments of the history of the town. Their cross-explanations bring light to the random series of urban events who gave Nancy its present structure.
Going through time, the film evokes the Middle-Age, the Renaissance, the Age of Enlightment, the industrial revolution, the Modern Art, ZUP (priority urbanisation zones) and the projects for the future. As centuries go by, the explanations are more and more detailed and two architects defend the importance of making the diversity of architectural styles cohabit within the city.
