Chronique d'une rupture
Sophie Kotanyi
1996 - 67 min - Betacam SP - Couleur - Allemagne, Belgique
The film turns the interior world of our family and shows its development in the context of the world surrounding us. Mother, father, sister, brother and I talk about our first years in Belgium, where we got political asylum. An account of the drifting apart of two parents up to their separation - told from the point of view of the two parents and from that of the children. The attempt of a dialogue between children and parents about traumatic times.
The stories of a family separation - told by the father who finally left the family and by mother, who remained alone with her three children and told by the children who are adults now. After so many years, the father calls to reconciliation. Each one deals differently with this times, but there is a common spirit.
