"Alegria" presents the artistic vision of contemporary choreographer Karine Saporta at a time when she has chosen to integrate flamenco into her creation.
By means of the choreographer's commentaries the film shows both the specificities of this form of expression and the differences which separate it from the essential characteristics of modern and post-modern dancing.
It is therefore a strong, personal point of view on flamenco that is expressed through this film. It allows us to enter the very heart of the creative universe of one of the most prominent figures in contemporary French dancing.
