Albert Camus : un combat contre l'absurde
James Kent
1997 - 90 min - Betacam SP - Couleur - France

At last revealed, here is the story of one of the great French writers of the 20th century. A writer who, in a world wary of ideology, has finally earned his rightful place and the respect of those who prefer justice and truth to dogma and extremism.
The film, made in collaboration with Olivier Todd, author of "Camus : a life", retraces Camus' life, work and travels. Its participants were chosen from the circle of his closest friends, especially the five women who were closest to him. Each takes us on a journey into the past.
The film focuses on three of his works, probably his most essential, "The Stranger", "The Fall", and "The First Man", and returns to the place where they were written : Algeria, Paris, Provence.
Through his correspondence and the recollections of his closest friends, we discover the fantastic destiny of Albert Camus.
