At the year 2000 edition of the two-yearly dance festival in Lyon, Jean-Claude Gallotta created "Les Larmes de Marco Polo" on the theme of the Silk Route. This show was an opportunity to go on a choreographic journey to Asia to meet Asian companies who were astonishingly modern. It was also the opportunity to note the exchanges of influence between East and West and the resultant artistic richness.
