General Giap, 88, is the last survivor of the fathers of the Vietnamese Revolution. The film tells the story of Vietnam through interviews of General Giap and other witnesses. Giap discloses some aspects of the Vietnam War and comments upon his strategy, his political commitment and the evolution of his country nowadays.
The opening of Vietnam after the communist rule is conveyed by a disquieting economic sloppiness. Is it a failure or a necessary revolution ? The time has come to take stock of the situation with men such as Giap. The current realities have to be compared to the sacrifices and the hope of all a people.
