Ad nauseam ! To the point of nausea ! Enough ! Enough of the daily counting of the dead ! Israel-Palestine : x dead plus two children in Gaza this morning and the death of a settler who died from his wounds of the day before. That gives us x+2+1 dead "mainly Palestinians". Tomorrow, another day, another number ; when there is nothing more to say, we count. The figures are real, serious, frightening no doubt, but they do not tell it all.
When we think to give an "objective" account of a conflict, although more true than x+2+1 ?, we end up denying both one group and the other, their aspirations and their identities. That reality, that topicality of the disproportion of forces, does not recount the multiple and contradictory realities in the field, the fierce will of most Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace.
