An old man retraces the steps of a stranger who had scribbled a few words at the back of a book. In his quest, Romano Rodaro takes us back to the epic story of Friulan stonemasons who on the 1st of January 1900 went to build the Trans-Siberian Railway at the edge of Lake Baikal, in Siberia.
