The only rehabilitation centre for juvenile offenders in Niger is located at the edge of the desert, 500 kilometres away from Niamey. This is the centre of Dakoro, small city of around 5.000 inhabitants.
From eight to eighteen, the children “incarcerated” in this centre experience a hard life, between threats and obligation to stay indoors. All these conditions make the possibility to grow up very difficult.
