Pierre Puget was born in Marseille in 1620. Painter, sculptor, architect, town-planner... He succeeded in working for his Majesty Louis XIV while keeping his personal independance with regard to authority, the court and its intrigues.
But he had to fight for it and this film reveals this struggle through study of his works which are shown in the Louvre in the courtyard of sculptures which bears his name.
