In august 1999, after the NATO bombings of Yugoslavia, I went to Belgrade to conduct interviews about what people had just gone through in Serbia.
People there felt lost in a place which had lost its orientation, where they felt both their survival and their identity threatened, unable to really understand the world being built around them, without their participation.
