In December 1999, 40,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Seattle to denounce the World Trade Organisation (WTO). For some years protest movements have been proliferating. Networks of associations are set up on a planetary scale and call for another kind of globalisation, human and interdependent.
Going against the current of neoliberal ideology, a new type of thinking is emerging around three main proposals : taxing financial speculation, cancelling the Third World debt and regulating world trade.
In this film heterodox economists speak and trace the history of these alternative networks.
