In 2002, Mexico pays national tribute to Manuel Alvarez Bravo on the occasion of his 100th birthday. Curiosity being his trait, he has always depicted his nation and its culture. He has been enriched by major artistic movements without forgetting the pious images from his childhood, the Pre-Hispanic heritage and the throng in the historic center where he was born. In this film we discover the work, thoughts and the life of a great Mexican photographer who has obtained international recognition. In claiming his amateurism, he became el Maestro.
