This documentary recounts the extraordinary interest raised by the training of youngsters by apprenticeships.
Seen as a means of fighting against unemployment among young people, apprenticeships figure in every programme, to such a point that in the late 80s, all the European countries were suffering from a veritable legislative frenzy. There has been a constant stream of reforms accompanied by the European Community’s pilot projects.
This documentary compares the declarations of various politicians with the reactions on the ground of apprentices from each country, in particular England, Spain, Sweden and Denmark. This comparison of the various national contexts reveals the weight of the social, economic or industrial partners who condition the political choices. It also highlights the potential represented by the apprenticeship of young people as a tool of integration in the Europe of tomorrow.
