“Twenty-Eight Nights and a Poem alternates between the Arab Image Foundation, where most of photographer Hashem Madani’s collection is now kept, and his Studio Shehrazade in Saïda, where he still spends time amidst his old machines, tools, photographs, negatives. The film reflects on the industry of image-making, the passage of time, and is interspersed with series of staged interventions in which Madani is complicit.” (Rasha Salti)
