Recording the lives of four families, Grigsby's elegy to the fragmentation of British society in the eighties creates a mosaic of impressions, running freely with time and space. Interviews with the generation born between the Wars are intercut with archive footage, effecting an analysis of the historical forces that shape people's everyday experiences.
