Valerio Zurlini
1952 - Italie - Noir & Blanc - 11'
Valerio Zurlini was one of the masters of Italian cinema in the sixties and seventies. In the fifties, he made a large number of documentary shorts in which he developed his formal rigour and his technical mastery. La stazione is a true unidentified object, almost a piece of direct cinema before its time. The agitation of the Termini station in Rome is presented in all its wealth of humanity, its fragility and diversity without invasive screen direction or voice over.
