Selling my land in my “Christian village” to a Muslim has taken me on a journey into present-day territorial and demographic fears between Lebanon’s communities. These fears perpetuate the traumas generated by the massacres and forced displacements which were perpetrated on a sectarian basis during the civil war. Since the end of the war in 1990, the massive sale of land has resulted in more and more displacements, taking to another level what fifteen years of war couldn’t do: making the country completely divided.
