Blink begins with Jakov and Ivan’s encounter in Vienna, after Ivan had fled from his family house in Kaštela and been missing for almost two months. Upon arrival back in Croatia, Jakov films his brother Ivan, his life with a schizophrenia diagnosis and his treatments in psychiatric clinics in Split, Rab and Ugljan. Most of the video footage was shot secretly in order to expose the inhumanity and brutality of treatment to which the residents of these institutions are subjected to and the real impact that medication has on their mental and physical well-being.
