Sur les traces de Robert Guinan
Frédéric Compain
1995 - 52 min - Betacam SP - Couleur - France

Robert Guinan lives in Chicago. For us, he becomes a kind of American Toulouse-Lautrec. Telling us about the hidden parts of the city, the different places, their secret, hidden, underground inhabitants who live at night, a whole living universe totally ignored. He knows everything about the moving geography of the ethnic, marginal or left out communities among which he looks for his models and with which he maintains a privileged and friendly relationship. His paintings are a visual counterpoint to this night guided tour of the extraordinary extending megalopolis of Chicago.
