L'Avant-Garde russe 1905-1925
Jean-Paul Fargier
1993 - 23 min - Betacam SP - Couleur - France
This film retraces the events which led to the exhibition "Russian Avant-garde 1905-1925" held in Nantes in 1993.
Now these 85 magnificent paintings – signed by 35 painters, some of them hardly, known – were born, then preserved on sometimes hidden in the provincial Russian museums. For over 50 years and finally rediscovered and gathered for the exhibition. Between neo primitivism and on the other hand suprematism and constructivism, the Russian avant-garde appears with its diversity.
There are close shots, surprises, attachments, astonishing crosscheckings, revelations.
