A draughtsman starts a large composition which is filmed at every stage, from the first line on the white page to the last detail. The whole creative process is recorded (including the weaknesses, pauses, retouches) also the act of drawing. The first artistic act of Man was doubtless that : to draw. This is a personal performance without any commentary other than graphic. What one expects of the draughtsman is a sort of "Comedy of Drawing" that is that he should take account of the suspense he creates with the first line and should'nt show us too quickly where he is taking us.
A powerful Austrian sculpter and painter, his works for the commemoration of the French Revolution have aroused great interest. In his immense studio in Vienne he is undertaking a fresco inspired by Luigi Nono's opera "Intolerance".
