Accords de guerre
Christophe Coello, Stéphane Goxe
1995 - 30 min - 3/4 BVU - Couleur - France

Filmed in Bosnia (Mostar and Sarajevo) in november 1995, just before peace agreement signature, this documentary approaches the musical creation and expression as a shelter and a "way out" for a youth exhausted by war.
Within a hostile context, these young adults, mainly Bosniac muslims, describe how rock music helped them to survive, to resist mentally. A moral resistance through "evasion", in order to escape momentarily from reality.
Rock also worked as an outlet, allowing them to externalize bad and painful feelings, evacuate violence and, today, express their anxiety, anger and the desire to make the most of the youth which has been taken away from them.
This documentary offers indeed a different vision of the war in former Yugoslavia, through the lens of music and illustrated by stirring words from young Bosniacs rejecting the logic of hate and war violence.
