A portrait of the internationally acclaimed writer Michel Butor. Freely adapted from "Thirteen Readings in the peaceful canton of Geneva" selected from "Transit", this film has a completely new way of showing a great contemporary writer and the world in which he works. It gives a portrait with different facets in different parts of the region of Geneva, in Michel Butor's company around the ideas of the "Génie du lieu" (The Spirit of the place) and "Voyages".
