Le Ciel, la Terre
Joris Ivens
1966 - 28 min - 35 mm - Noir & Blanc - France, Vietnam

Documentary as a result of Ivens' first visits to Vietnam in 1965, where the first ten thousands of American marines were brought ashore to support the regime in South-Vietnam. The film is a means to inform the west of how the conflict between North and South-Vietnam was escalating to become one of the most violent ever. Shot in North-Vietnam, the film shows the countryside and the bombed city of Hanoi, where ordinary everyday life adjusts to the continuous threat of B-52 bombers.
