“I went to Lisbon with my mother for the editing of the film The Strange Case of Angelica by Manoel de Oliveira hoping to recover the memories of a cinema I grew up with. This new trip to Lisbon duplicates another more internal journey, in the editing rooms of the twenty previous films by Manoel de Oliveira. When one suitcase closes others open. White Gloves is a film about my film training, what the director and his editor silently taught me every year.”
