Blues Bigouden
Patrice Gérard
2004 - 12 min - Beta SX & Beta num - Couleur - France

Seeing his fishermen’s friends form the Guilvinec “disarmed“ by the plan of reform of the fishing common policy; Patrice Gérard went to Bruxelles and to the Guilvinec to know if it was possible to save both fishes and men.
He enables us to discover intimately and intensely fishermen’s universe. “The idea of a fishing port without fishermen makes me sick. The idea of a deserted country hoping for tourists is disgusting me. So, with André, Patrice and Jeannot, the Guil blokes, I went on their boat for a tide, to listen to them, understand their situation. Then I went to Bruxelles, to see things more clearly on the other side.
I made this film to put faces on numbers, to avoid a film made “too late” that would make people weep in their homes when the show is already over."
Patrice Gérard.
