Zaher Shah, former monarch of Afghanistan, has been living in exile for 25 years in a modest villa in the suburbs of Rome.
After his long silence during the years of the war, he has accepted today, for the first time, to grant an exclusive interview to Atiq Rahimi, an Afghani director.
