This film was shot in 1984 in the Town Council of the Berlin-Centre district of the FDR in the Berolina House, located on the Alexanderplatz. It was unthinkable for FDR officials that someone could walk around an official building with a camera without having obtained prior authorisation. The filmed protagonists simply assumed that it was a properly authorised shoot. And yet what we are witnessing is a true act of piracy, only the first sketches of the project had received authorisation. We are here presented with an important missing link in the cultural history of East Germany.
