People talk more and more about basket-ball and not only because Limoges won the European championship but also because the kids are taking it up. Careful, not just any basket-ball, the" basket" of the streets, the sketba, the free one, leaps on the asphalt and murderous smashes, whose heroes are Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Saquille O'Niel. It’s America at the corner of the street, the Far-West in town.
Far away from discussions the suburbs or racial questions, it resembles the black culture of the cities which is also spreading quickly through Paris and its suburbs. Everywhere playgrounds players swarm. Basket-ball is their challenge.
