The history of the Muslim community in France dates from the early 20th century. This community participated in the liberation of the country by serving in the army or the Resistance then took part in reconstruction... So for almost a half century now their integration into French society has been at the heart of a national debate.
The series "Mémoires d'immigrés" proposes to trace this history by means of the testimonies of three generations. This is the account of the massive arrivals of North African immigrants who came to work in France at the request of France. Then the story of their wives, that the law allowed to join them. Finally, that of their children whose history is situated between the origin of their parents and their own, in France.
Three hours of History made up of accounts of history.
