This documentary proposes an approach to flamenco singing and its essential relation with daily social life. This fragile, forbidden relation, does not give itself up immediately to strangers, and this film constitutes the beginning of a search. Outside of the performed shows and stages, the "cante" has its place in the street, during the events of the Feria or Holy Week in Jerez de la Frontera, performed by recognised artists and by anonymous people. Two types of song are represented. The festive "buleria", sung in groups of close friends, also gives way to dancing. The idolatrous "saeta" is addressed by official or spontaneous singers to the holy images as they pass in the streets. Situations gathered in the middle of the crowd, raw documents, are punctuated with images of the town, solitary walks in its different districts. This outside approach is accompanied by a poetic vision that comes from the words of a Jerezano about this world that he has always lived with.
