The Hainaut, that of the dialects and country customs, covers a large area on both sides of the Franco-Belgian border. In spite of this administrative separation, the Hainaut is a cultural entity which survives in the fairs and popular traditions.
"A journey in an imaginary country" tells us about the ones that take place in spring between Shrove Tuesday and Trinity Sunday. It is a celebration of life and fertility, and the celebrations are filmed by Alexandre Keresztessy with an affectionate mockery.
