In Port-Louis, at the end of the Vieux Conseil street, a building contains a big part of the history and memory of Mauritius. Since 1966, Marie-Noëlle and Tristan Bréville collect the iconographic archives of the country and constitute their Museum of photography: a place with an exceptional content, an ambitious and essential project in a State that does not keep national photography archives. Material and support of image are added to these archives, pictures and films: daguerreotypes, pictures with glass plates, old cameras, filmed documents from the beginning of the 20th century, projectors, etc. In parallel with these researches and work of protection, Tristan has a creative activity in the photography and heritage fields. Through the portrait of this Mauritian couple, the documentary will question the concept of heritage and memory. Through his creative works, Tristan Bréville will expose his values and the Mauritian image he wishes to transmit to the new generations.
