In the last few decades Lebanon has accumulated several of the problems of the Near East : civil war, Israeli occupation, Palestinian refugees, Syrian domination, suicide bombers ...To try to grasp the vicissitudes of this multi-confessional country, in a high risk region, the film focuses on the return of Khadigé, after an absence of 20 years, to a Shi’ite Muslim family.
Through clear, lucid analyses of Lebanese personalities, it allows us to measure the difficulties and the ambiguities of a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society, considerably shaken by the events of the Near East. For all that, this country directly questions the Manichean vision of a world which could no longer be ruled other than by the "shock of civilisations".
