Les Maîtres du jeu
Rafaël Ferré-Sentis
1996 - 52 min - Vidéo - France

Jean-Paul Loth, who today is the adviser of the French Tennis Federation, analyses the game of eight great champions who have marked the history of world tennis : Pete Sempras, John Mc Enroe, Monica Seles, Björn Borg, Jimmy Connors, Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert.
To explain what differentiates the masters from the other great players and illustrate the state of grace that only certain champions manage to reach, the authors of this documentary have gathered the best pictures from the archives. Stills, slow motions, extracts from phases of the game : Jean-Paul Loth analyses the strategies and the stroke of the wild beasts of tennis. In one hundred years, the rules have practically not moved. Yet the game is completely different from what it was at its origins.
