The shadow of the painter James Ensor still haunts the pier of Ostende. This unclassifiable artist of the 19th and 20th centuries developed an avant-garde art where colours and patterns highlight the carnival of our world. The voice of Jean-Quentin Châtelain reading the painter’s texts, brimming with rage, humour and poetry, the musical soundtrack of Marie-Jeanne Séréro, the works themselves filmed in detail and the presence of Pierre Alechinsky are some of the paths chosen by the diretors to conjure up this "ensorcery".
