Le Génie du mal
Iossif Pasternak
2003 - 85 min - DV Cam - Couleur - France

In 1987, Alexandre L. Lokchine died. In March 2002, an official document delivered by the Security Services exonerates him completely. The film is built around both A. Lokchine and his son's story who fought for his recognition, searching the truth. Alexandre Lokchine never denounced anybody. Nevertheless, the proofs, the facts, the dossiers are there - and the friends who returned with these stories had effectively been denounced.
Many are those who, in spite of themselves, were confronted to the infernal engine: the one of the interrogations, the interrogators and the interrogated. The film is related to the Requiem. The aim is to gather, around the partition, those who, holding the violin bow, placing their hands over the keyboard or with their voice want to know, not who denounced, but how what will reveal itself as a totally false setting could so easily get to be considered as evidence.
