1995 - 26 min - Vidéo - Couleur - France
Inland, rivers travel across the country going to meet in search of cultures. They are sources of work, leisure and dreams. Their stories are ours. Durance is one of them.
This documentary doesn't aim at explaining the river, it let it narrate itself... It's an evocation documentary, tinged with stories, emotions and nostalgia. Through the meetings with those who are living with "it", near it, the people who use it (the barrage's keeper, the angler, the farmer or a couple in love...) Jacques Malaterre achieves a sensitive portrait of yesterday and today Durance.
