Matarazzo was the greatest director of popular cinema in the post war period, churning out dozens of burning melodramas which were hugely successful. But in the thirties, he also made some excellent documentaries for the Cines production company. This film recounts in a refined formalistic style the founding of Littoria—called Latina after 1945—one of the new cities built after the draining of the Argo Pontino wetlands.
