Departure on Arrival is a merging of past and present. “[...] The transience of time is maybe the main subject of this film. It incorporates fragments of my ancestry and abstract parts [...] Although I had a plan when starting it, it is also made very intuitively with a lot of attention too to the sounds and music, both sometimes guiding images. It was shot both on 16 mm and 8 mm and then reworked (no computer!).” (Barbara Meter)
