For Richard Baquié, the memory of movement (consciousness) is an essential notion. The best way to grasp the sculptor and his work through a film is, it seems to me, to use in a "rough" way the signs that he leaves us as an inventor-poet who puts thoughts into movement.
The structure and the composition of the film are essentially based on Richard Baquié's 25 notebooks. I filmed certain pages (fleeting impressions, theoretical writings, poems, sketches, beginnings of projects, fulfilled or not), the ones that seemed to me to be the most significant of the evolution of the artist's thinking and production.
As for the works, they are inserted into the film by strokes : some pieces are filmed in their entirety, others only appear in details that reinforce the flow, the legibility and some mysteries of the film. Mysteries that are sometimes linked with the interiority or exteriority of certain of Richard's smiles.
